The Université de Sherbrooke is seeking applications to fill a position as a professor at the School of Social Work of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. This is a regular full-time position attached to the main campus of Sherbrooke. The preferred area of expertise is the theories and methodologies of the intervention.


About the Department


The School of Social Work is recognized for its innovative capacity in the training of social workers and social workers. Its programs are part of professionalization paths aimed at integrating individual and collective dimensions. Its many institutional and community partners testify to its dynamism and its roots in professional circles and its sensitivity to regional, national and international realities. In terms of research, the faculty team has developed in-depth expertise that enables it to play a leading role in the development of professional practices and the analysis of social issues.

- Teaching theories and methodologies of social work intervention in the 1st and 2nd cycles, with an integrated approach (integration of individual and collective dimensions).
- Organization of practical and academic training activities (internships, workshops, laboratories, courses) which involve the coordination of several actors (practitioners, coaches, supervisors, users, actors, students).
- Participation in interdisciplinary and inter-faculty projects.
- Supervision and supervision of graduate students.
- Development of research activities.
- Participation in university life.
- Service to the community.


requirements


Have a PhD in social work or a related discipline. Individuals holding a PhD in a related discipline must have a bachelor's or master's degree in social work.
Have five (5) years experience in social work practice in institutional or community settings.
Demonstrated ability in university teaching in the 1st and 2nd cycles of social work.
Have a clear interest and potential to develop research projects and integrate into networks and research teams.
Demonstrate ability and interest in working with training partners including integrated health and social services centers and community organizations.
Excellent knowledge of social work practices.
Demonstrate its ability to integrate with the School's activities and professional programs.


Working conditions are governed by the collective agreements in force.



Regular full-time position.

 

Expected date of entry into service: from 1 August 2017.
