Research Associate in Public Policy and Political Change (Fixed Term)

 


Applications are invited for a postdoctoral Research Associate in the field of Public Policy and Political Change. This position will be located in the newly formed Cambridge Institute for Public Policy, a brand-new research centre supported by the School of the Humanities and Social Sciences. Its inaugural Director is Professor Michael Kenny from POLIS.

 

The Research Associate will work in the broad areas of public policy and governance, and will make a substantive contribution to the work of one the core programmes of the new Institute - 'Remaking Government', working closely with Kenny in this area on one or more of the following topics:

 

  • The remaking of the UK's territorial constitution;

  • Place-based policy-making;

  • The contested nature of experts and expertise in the policy process;

  • Public policy in the era of disruption.

 

As well as conducting research on one, or more, of these areas, the role will involve contributing to the on-going development of the agenda and programmes of the Institute, helping its outreach activities and being involved in various activities relating to policy engagement.

 

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 3 years in the first instance.
