POSTDOC RESEARCH ETHICS AND SCIENTIFIC INTEGRITY

 

The Centre for Biomedical Ethics and Law (CBMER) is a well established and renowned research centre in Europe. The expertise of the Centre spans a wide variety of disciplines including ethics, law, philosophy, theology, social sciences and close links are maintained with various disciplines in medicine and health care. The staff is composed of senior academic researchers including post-docs and junior researchers in the different disciplines and coming from all over the world.


Function

 

This position is part of theEnTIRE-project granted by H2020 program of the European Commission.

 

The overall aim of the EnTIREproject is to create a platform that makes normative frameworks governingresearch integrity and scientific integrity easily accessible, supportsapplication in research and evaluation, and involves all stakeholders in aparticipatory way. The postdoc position will focus in particularon the codes, legislations and guidelines regarding research ethics andscientific integrity in Europe.

 

You will work under the supervision of Professor Kris Dierickx. You will be part of a research team on the same topic. You will play an active role in the research team, publish papers on research ethics and integrity, organise and take part in workshops, public events and other activities.


Profile

 

  • Youhave completed a PhD in medical ethics or a relevant field (law, socialsciences, theology, philosophy …) or a PhD dissertation already accepted by thePhD Committee.
  • Youhave an excellent track record and research skills, relative to experience; andexcellent academic writing and presentation skills.
  • Youhave the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Youhave an active interest in interdisciplinary work which connects philosophicalanalysis to other relevant disciplines and societal challenges.
