Academic Position

The Department of Communication of the Faculty of Social Sciences invites applications for a one-year contract in the position of Visiting Assistant Professor in Public Speaking.

 

Qualifications


Candidates should possess a PhD in Communication or a related discipline, and demonstrable expertise in university teaching. Candidates must be fluent, and able to teach in English. An ability to speak Chinese (Putonghua or Cantonese) would be an advantage.


The ideal candidate will have teaching experience in the areas of Public Speaking, Academic Writing, and Interpersonal Communication. In addition, specific teaching expertise in Academic writing skills would be an advantage. The ability to assist students’ PhD thesis-writing is also desirable.

 

The selected candidate is expected to assume duty in August 2017.
