Senior Research Assistant in the Department of Applied Social Sciences (Appointment for 6 months) [Ref. C/R/119/09]



Project


Developing a New Class of Approaches to Detecting and Controlling the Impact of Response Styles in Rating or Likert Scales

 

The Project involves the development of psychometric models to ensure the validity and reliability of surveys and assessments. Issues such as measurement invariance and rater severity are investigated in the Project.

 

Duties


Assist in conducting simulation and empirical studies, and perform any other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements


A Master’s degree in Psychometrics/Psychology/Education/Statistics, with 1 year’s post-qualification working experience in conducting empirical research in psychology or education. Familiarity with statistical software (such as R, Mplus and/or Matlab); good background in advanced statistics, item response theory and psychometrics are required.
