Professorship of Media and Culture


The Board of Electors to the Professorship of Media and Culture invite applications for this Professorship from individuals whose work falls within the general field of the Professorship. The successful candidate will take up appointment on 1 October 2018 or as soon as possible thereafter.

 

Candidates will have an outstanding research record of international stature and a significant body of published work. They will have the vision, leadership experience and enthusiasm to build on the Department's current strengths, and to contribute to the growth of Sociology within and beyond the University of Cambridge.

 

Standard professorial duties include teaching and research, examining, supervision and administration.

 

Cambridge Sociology has a substantial, active and longstanding commitment to the promotion of greater diversity and inclusion within the Department and the University as a whole. Efforts to improve access to higher education, to reform the curriculum, to meet the challenges of widening participation in all of the Department's and University's activities are core values of the Departmental staff and student communities. The Professor will be based in Cambridge.
