The Faculty of Applied Economics is seeking to fill a full-time (100%) vacancy in the Department of Economics for an

 

Academic assistant in the area of Applied Economics

 

Job description

  • You support professors in their teaching of bachelor and master courses (econometrics, macroeconomics, ..) and in their research in the field of Applied Economics.

  • You prepare a doctoral thesis in this field and you are applying for externally funded doctoral grants.

  • You contribute in developing new teaching material; you give tutorials for students and feedback on assessments of students.

 

Profile and requirements

  • You hold a master degree in (Applied) Economics; Business Engineering; Social and Economic sciences (master students in their final year may also run as a candidate) or equivalent.

  • The focus in your teaching corresponds to the educational vision of the university.

  • Your academic qualities comply with the requirements stipulated in the university’s policy.

  • You are very fluent in English.

  • You are quality-oriented, conscientious, creative and cooperative.

 

We offer

  • an appointment as an academic assistant for a period of two years, with the possibility of renewal twice for a further two-year period after positive evaluation;

  • the date of appointment will be 1 October 2018;

  • a full time gross monthly salary ranging from € 3.272,69 - € 5.538,41;

  • a dynamic and stimulating work environment.
