Research Assistant I/II in the Sau Po Centre on Ageing within the Faculty of Social Sciences (Ref.: 201800579) (to commence as soon as possible, on a one-year temporary basis or two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal)

 

Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree or above in Social Work, Social Sciences, Sociology, Social Policy or a related discipline, preferably with at least one year's post-qualification work experience in social sciences-related research projects. They should have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese, and good knowledge of quantitative and qualitative analysis, as well as knowledge of the local elderly service setting. Experience in fieldwork data collection from elderly people is an advantage. The appointee will support a study of building Hong Kong into an age-friendly city. He/She will be responsible for literature research and review, data collection and analysis, preparation of presentations, manuscripts and reports; and other research-related duties as assigned.

 

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment on two-year fixed-term basis will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary.
