Do you have experience of interdisciplinary teaching? Are you able to support adult learners who are undertaking an interdisciplinary, professionally-related degree? Do you have an applied understanding of digital technologies?

The BA Professional Studies programme is a degree designed specifically for mature students to provide interdisciplinary and professionally-related learning.

You will take responsibility for the delivery of the 20 credit module ‘Technology, New Media and Society’, which is a compulsory module on the programme. The module examines and explores the role of technology and new media in contemporary society; it involves engagement with the social and cultural theoretical discussions about communication and new media alongside the students’ development of the digital skills needed to build an effective blog or website. You willcover preparation, student support appropriate to adult learners and marking as well as delivery of the module. Face to face class time is 4 hours per week. Teaching will take place on Tuesdays from late September through to December 2018.

Tutors are appointed formally to the LLC team on a pro-rata basis. This appointment is 8.35% of a full-time contract for this 20 credit module, subject to the module recruiting sufficient students to be viable. Tutors are unpaid members of the Centre’s staff when not actively teaching.
