The Freie Universität Berlin is looking for two research assistants for the project "Effects of EU soft law across the multilevel system (EfSoLaw, head: Miriam Hartlapp)". If you are interested, you can join the Graduate School of Global and Transregional Studies in Berlin. The DFG-funded ANR project analyzes the effects of soft law in the EU multilevel system. It compares Germany and France in selected policy fields and asks if, when and why instruments that have no legal enforcement influence the performance of the EU multi-level system. Further information about the project can be requested by mail at miriam.hartlapp@fu-berlin.de .

 

Responsibilities:
Independent empirical research in the context of the project project and the writing of a dissertation related to the topic of the research project. Collaboration on German and English language publication of the project results and the implementation of scientific workshops. Teaching services can not be provided.

 

Hiring requirements:
Completed political science. University studies focusing on European integration and / or comparative politics.

 

Desirable:
majors in one or more of the following areas: implementation, multilevel legal systems & administrations and / or EU policy analysis in the field of competition or anti-discrimination policies; Competence in methods and procedures of empirical social research; very good knowledge of English; high communication and team skills; structured, analytical and independent way of working; also beneficial: basic knowledge of European law, knowledge of French, experience in international comparative / European research as well as the implementation of third-party funded projects.
