The USC Sol Price School of Public Policy invites applicants for an adjunct faculty position in the area of Crime and Public Policy. The successful candidate should possess at minimum a master’s degree in public policy, public administration, or a related field with strong training and professional experience in public policy and the criminal justice field. The candidate will be able to teach undergraduate level topics courses related to one or more of the following areas: public policy and management, specifically PPD 342 Crime and Public Policy.  Preference will be given to candidates with prior teaching experience and excellent teaching evaluations.


The successful candidate will teach PPD 342 Crime and Public Policy.  This course will develop a student’s fundamental basis for his or her philosophy of justice and law, and apply this to the framework of public policy.  This course also examines the public policy-making process – setting agendas, formulating alternatives, and implementation of policies – with a specific focus on the arena of crime and criminal justice.


Adjunct instructor responsibilities include delivery of course content, scheduling office hours and being accessible to students as appropriate, and grading. Each instructor is expected to provide students with a syllabus outlining the course goals, schedule and all requirements for the course under the direction of the Department Chair.
