Achieve your potential

Whether you're at the start of your career or looking to take the next step, Loughborough is a great place to be.

We're ranked in the top ten of every national league table, we were awarded Gold in the Teaching Excellence Framework, and we have seven Queen's Anniversary Prizes for Higher and Further Education.

Our staff are the key to our ongoing success. There's an atmosphere of determination and a will to succeed, creating an environment that inspires everyone to be the very best they can be.

In this latest phase of our ambitious campaign to recruit 100 outstanding academic staff, we are seeking to appoint Lecturers, Senior Lecturers and Readers. Appointments can be made in any area where our current aspirations and your exciting vision can combine to deliver special results.

We would particularly like to encourage female and BME applicants as we are actively seeking to increase numbers of female and BME Professors. Applications from those who might want to work part-time are also welcome.

Successful candidates will need to have a PhD and have a sustained and continuing record of excellence which has contributed to the furtherance of knowledge in their discipline and which is recognised by an established international reputation. Evidence of academic leadership is also essential. Candidates must also be able to demonstrate a clear trajectory towards achievement at a higher academic level.

In exceptional circumstances, the University can offer a market supplement of up to 10% of the maximum salary quoted per annum.

Informal enquiries should be made to Professor Nicholas Clifford (Dean of the School of Social, Political and Geographical Sciences) by email

Application Closing Date: 24 October 2017
