The Blavatnik Professorship will help lead the Blavatnik School’s mission to improve government across the world through research, education, and engagement of the highest quality. The successful candidate will be a scholar of international distinction with an exceptional track record of research and teaching on government at national or international level that will fit with the School’s commitment to practical education and research.

 

The successful candidate will provide leadership in research and teaching on the policy and practice of government at national and international level; to conduct outstanding research which has clear application for governments; to obtain research funding and be integral to strategic planning for future funding opportunities; and to demonstrate commitment to providing effective, innovative and inspirational teaching at graduate level.

 

The successful candidate will have an international reputation in scholarship and research, and outstanding publication record in the field of government and public policy, with emphasis on the policy and practice of government at national and international level; a strong record in obtaining research funding and in strategic planning for future funding opportunities; a track record of contributing effectively to the long-term development of the academic and research programmes of their institution; a proven ability and commitment to providing effective, innovative and inspirational teaching at graduate level; and a track record of policy advice to governments and non-governmental agencies, or engagement with public policy leaders or institutions.

 

Start date: 1 October 2018, or as soon as possible thereafter.
