The Defence Studies Department is looking to recruit a number of fixed-term teaching fellows in international diplomacy to work for King’s College London at the Defence Academy of the United Kingdom. The Defence Studies Department is a multidisciplinary department focused on providing postgraduate-level education to officers from all services of the UK armed forces and from many allied nations. Based in the Defence Academy of the United Kingdom in Shrivenham, our academics work in partnership with officers to develop and deliver a curriculum designed to prepare officers for higher leadership roles.


The successful candidate/s will provide research-led teaching and syllabus development of the academic elements of the Joint Services Command and Staff Course (JSCSC), including subject matter expertise in international diplomacy. The ability to teach across the broad range of subjects we cover (international relations, regional security, command and leadership, strategy) is essential, as is a research specialism in international diplomacy. This specialism can be broadly defined, but can include areas such as conflict resolution, negotiations, diplomacy, and the functioning of international organizations.


This post will a fixed-term contract for 12 months.


This is a full-time position - 100 % full time equivalent


The selection process will include a panel interview and presentation.
