Job description

The Département de sociologie is seeking applications for a full-time tenure-track position at the
rank of Assistant Professor in the Sociology of education or critical studies in education.

Responsibilities

The appointed candidate will be expected to teach at all three levels of the curriculum, supervise
graduate students, engage in ongoing research and publication, and contribute to the academic
life and reputation of the University.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in sociology or another discipline in social sciences appropriate to the position.
• Research and teaching experience in the Sociology of education.
• In-depth knowledge of the field of the Sociology of education and of current issues in the
field.
• Excellent publication record.
• An adequate knowledge of the French written and spoken language or a strong commitment
to mastering the proficiency level required*.
