The role


The Department of Sociology at Durham University welcomes applications for the post of Assistant/Associate Professor (Teaching) in Sociology. The Department is continuing an ambitious programme of investment over a five year period to consolidate and expand its research capacity in its overarching research themes.

  • Transgressive Leisure
  • Violence and Abuse


We are seeking to appoint an exceptional individual with expertise that overlaps with any of the above research themes. The successful candidate will play a leadership role in enhancing our taught programmes, with a particular emphasis on the teaching of Criminological Theory at Undergraduate level.
