Description

The Graduate School of Management at the University of California, Davis, seeks part time instructors to teach one or more courses in the area of Articulation and Critical Thinking for the 2020-2021 academic year. These courses are part of the curriculum for the online MBA program.

Applicants should have a MBA, PhD or advanced coursework in Articulation and Critical Thinking, and be familiar with standard business frameworks. Experience teaching with the case method and teaching in an online format preferred.

Course lists:
268V- Articulation and Critical Thinking

Develop competency in business writing and oral presentations. Build critical thinking skills. Topics include behavioral economics, false claims, cognitive biases, correlation/causality, and more. Formerly titled "Management Communications."

Instructors will hold 10 live online sessions, one per week in a 10-week quarter, reviewing and expanding upon material presented to students in a pre-recorded format. Instructors are also required to assist with course grading and work with the course coordinator to ensure consistency across sections. A fast and stable internet connection is required.

Much of the course is devoted to developing students’ writing and public speaking skills. Students complete five assignments for each throughout the quarter. Instructors are expected to provide detailed feedback and coaching to help students’ improve these skills.
