The Social Work team in the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Social Work comprises of full time and part time academics with extensive experience in higher education and social work and social care professional education and training. Our research and scholarship is often collaborative, working with other universities, local, national and European partners and involves a range of contemporary social work / social care practice and education issues. The School of Nursing, Midwifery and Social Work is offering the opportunity for an experienced academic or practitioner to contribute to the development and delivery of social work and social care education to foundation, undergraduate, post graduate and post qualifying programmes as well as to actively engage in related scholarly and knowledge exchange activities. The role holder will have extensive experience in social work or social care and be able to demonstrate commitment to the support and inspiration of students in their continued quest for knowledge, skills and professional development. You will have a relevant first degree or equivalent and, if social work qualified, be eligible to be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council. You will have a related Masters or equivalent and experience of working as a lecturer or practice educator and contributing to courses or modules in the social work or social care field in a Higher Education setting. Ideally you will have or are studying to obtain a PhD in Social Sciences or a related topic. We are particularly interested to hear from applicants who have experience of work in adult services including mental health.
