The Department of Educational Leadership and Policy (ELP) within the College of Education at the University of Texas at Austin invites applications for a tenured Associate or Full Professor in Educational Leadership. The position will start in the Fall semester of 2021.

We seek an individual with a highly active program of research of national and international significance that is well-versed in the practice of educational leadership. This individual will have a demonstrated scholarly research agenda in at least one of the following areas: district governance, data-informed leadership, principal and/or teacher coaching and evaluation, school improvement processes, district and school finance, organizational design and improvement, or other areas of educational leadership. The individual will also be expected to engage with scholars across the country as well as with state, district, and school partners and other stakeholders. Primary teaching responsibilities will be in our two school leadership programs, Cooperative Superintendency Program (CSP) and Texas Principal Leadership Academy (TPLA). In addition, this individual will be expected to teach both masters and doctoral students in other programs within the Department and will be able to support CSP and TPLA students in practical applications of leadership in clinical experiences. Finally, the successful candidate will have expertise in urban or rural school settings with evidence of a sustained commitment to the preparation of equity-centered school and district leaders.

Candidates must hold an earned doctorate in educational leadership, administration, or policy, or a relevant social science discipline and a strong record of scholarship appropriate for a tenured appointment at the University of Texas. In addition, candidates must have a demonstrated commitment to equity and anti-racist leadership as evidenced by past and/or current research, teaching, and service activities. The candidate would ideally have administrative experience at the school or district level. This position also requires the individual to engage in research relevant to the PK -12 educational community as well as foster partnerships with local school districts and other stakeholders. Also, the candidate will be expected to teach and advise students at the master’s and doctoral levels, supervise dissertations, and participate in program development across all areas within the department. The successful candidate should have experience in serving as a tenured or tenure-track faculty member at peer institutions and must also demonstrate evidence of successful grant writing to support their research and/or to advance programmatic goals.
