Teaching Associate in Philosophy University of Nottingham, Department of Philosophy United Kingdom

Applications are invited for the above post based at University Park, School of Humanities, in the Department of Philosophy.

 

The successful candidate should have a track record of demonstrably excellent quality teaching to undergraduate students. There is no explicit or implicit requirement for the candidate to have any particular AoS or AoC in any particular area of Philosophy. This is open. The candidate will also have personal tutoring responsibilities and will undertake such administrative tasks as agreed with the Head of Department. The candidate will be expected to engage in professional development related to teaching and engage with local and national teaching developments. The candidate will be expected to be able and willing to take on teaching related administrative tasks. The successful candidate will have opportunities for ongoing professional training and development.

 

Candidates must have a PhD already awarded (or to be awarded by the time they take up the appointment) in any field of philosophy, excellent oral and written communication skills, the ability to design and deliver high quality and up-to-date course materials, experience and demonstrable success in delivering undergraduate teaching. A higher education teaching qualification or equivalent is desirable.

This post will be offered on a permanent, full-time (36.25 hours) basis commencing approximately on the 1st September 2019. Job share arrangements may be considered.
