Visiting Clinical Professor in Culture, Education and Human Development
New York University Steinhardt School of Culture, Education and Human Development
United States

The Department of Occupational Therapy (OT) has two visiting clinical professor lines to begin in September 2021 for a term of one year, up to three years, based on annual re-appointment.

The Department of Occupational Therapy at NYU is one of the oldest OT programs in the United States. It offers graduate programs including an entry-level master’s of science, a post-professional master’s of arts, a post-professional occupational therapy clinical doctorate (online and residential), and a doctorate of philosophy.

The mission of the OT Department at New York University’s Steinhardt School of Culture Education and Human Development is to prepare competent, compassionate, ethical occupational therapists to assume roles as clinicians, leaders, scholars, and researchers. We are committed to substantially increasing the proportion of our faculty from historically underrepresented groups as we strive to create the most intellectually diverse, inclusive, and equitable institution that we can, and especially encourage candidates from historically underrepresented groups to apply.

The position commitment would be to teach professional and post-professional level courses, participate in and serve on committees, and provide other services to the department, school, and University. Advisement responsibilities would include working closely with the program directors to support the goals of these programs. Exact job duties will be negotiated at hiring.

Candidates must have an earned doctorate and must be licensed as an Occupational Therapist in New York State. Individuals with a robust clinical background, experience teaching, advising, and supervising OT students will be given strong consideration.

Application Instructions

Interested applicants should apply online through the link below with a one-page letter of interest highlighting qualifications, curriculum vitae, two letters of reference. Letters of reference should be submitted online directly to the committee by the referees.
