The Department of Anthropology seeks instructors for lecturer positions, pending administrative approval and funding, for the academic year 2018-2019. Positions are available for the following quarters:


Fall Quarter 2018 September 24 – December 14

Winter Quarter 2019 January 4 – March 22

Spring Quarter 2019 March 28 – June 13


Demonstrated experience in teaching, and advanced degree in Anthropology or related discipline is required. We will prioritize recent and current graduate students who have worked closely with the Anthropology program at Davis.

Applicants should submit a cover letter (indicate positions for which you would like to be considered ranked by preference), CV, Statement of Contributions to Diversity, and the contact information for two (2) references. Teaching statement, course syllabus, and prior evaluations are optional.

Current Unit 18 lecturers need not reapply to be considered for reappointment. Current lecturers should contact Chair Lynn Isbell to request consideration for reappointment; they will then be assessed according to the current department guidelines.
