About the Position:

The Department of Political Science invites applications from qualified candidates for a tenure-track appointment in Political Theory, with expertise in the History of Political Thought, at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning July 1, 2018.

The Department is particularly interested in candidates specializing in Feminist and Continental Political Thought, along with a general ability to teach and supervise in the area of Political Theory.

About the Academic Unit:

The Department of Political Science is one of the largest in Canada and offers programs of study at the undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral levels. Faculty colleagues are national and international leaders in the discipline and political theory has long been a particular strength of the Department. The Department is part of the Faculty of Public Affairs, a unique entity that brings together academic units and disciplines to address the broad areas of politics, policy and governance, international affairs, media and society, and community engagement.


The candidate must hold a PhD (or equivalent) or be close to completion, with a strong record of publishing and scholarly activity relative to stage of career, and demonstrate teaching and research excellence or clear potential for such excellence.
