This Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Liverpool is delighted to introduce a new, prestigious 5-year Tenure Track Fellowship scheme. The Derby Fellowships are focused on key areas within the Humanities and Social Sciences, leading to a permanent position, subject to performance against a high-quality threshold. The scheme is designed to recruit and nurture a new generation of outstanding and ambitious academic leaders. In this first intake, we seek to recruit to the following subject areas: Communication and Media, Law, Finance, Strategy and International Business and Operations Management.

Appointees will be individuals who have demonstrated or show potential for excellence in research, teaching and/or public engagement and innovation. The Fellowships offer a unique opportunity for early career academics to strengthen their experience of research and teaching in a world class university environment, to develop their curriculum vitae and progress to permanent tenure at Liverpool by the end of the Fellowship.

Candidates must have been awarded, or be about to be awarded their PhD prior to application. Applicants who have yet to be awarded their PhDs should normally be within three months of thesis submission at the time they take up their Fellowship. Where applicants have worked part-time or have had career breaks, the window would be extended accordingly.

The University of Liverpool hires on the basis of merit and is strongly committed to the principles of Athena SWAN and values equity and diversity across its workforce. We strive to ensure our workforce is representative of broader society and actively encourage applications from those in underrepresented minority groups, women, persons with disabilities, persons of minority sexual orientations and gender identities. We are committed to ensuring support for individuals starting out in their career or returning to academia after a career break for family, caring or health reasons.

There are 6 fellowships available. The posts are available for 5 years.

Closing Date : 20 August 2018
