As of April 1, 1919, the position of a


research associate


with 65% of the regular weekly working time (currently 25.87 hours / week) is limited in time for the Department of Social-Ecological Interactions in Agricultural Systems of the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen Duration of 3 years to occupy. The pay is based on the fee group 13 TV-L .


The position serves to co-operate in the joint project "Small Private Forest and Biodiversity: Conservation through the Use of Resources (KLEIBER)". The project aims to identify conservation values in the small-scale private forest against the background of increased and further increasing demand for raw wood and to secure this within the framework of a profitable use of wood. Social-ecological studies illuminate the values and concrete management practices of small private forest owners as well as their view on problems and perspectives regarding nature conservation measures.


Your tasks
- Preparation and implementation of qualitative and quantitative surveys of forest owners in northwestern Germany
- Analysis of the social-ecological connections between attitudes / management practices of forest owners and nature conservation values of forest stands
- Review of scientific and practice-oriented literature on the topic of nature conservation and ecosystem services in the small private forest
- Publication and preparation of project results for different target groups


Your profile
- A completed master's program in forestry / Agricultural / Environmental Social Sciences / Geography or related fields with a grade of good or very good
- Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative empirical methods of environmental social
sciences - Communication skills, experience in scientific publishing
- Experience in and / or interest in interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary work
- Very good knowledge of German and English in spoken and written


The position is intended to serve the qualification of junior scientists and offers the opportunity for a doctorate or habilitation.
