Assistant Professor in History

Description of Duties:

Teach courses in History in traditional classroom, Zoom technology, and web formats on any RSCC campus;

Serve on college-wide and division committees as assigned;

Continued professional development activities including pursuit of an advanced degree or certifications as needed;

Other duties as designated by the Dean.


Master's Degree in History from an accredited University required; PhD preferred;

Experience and ability to teach both traditional and on-line [web] courses;

Minimum of 30 semester hours of college level teaching experience required.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Work Characteristics Summary:

Ability to work independently as well as collegially with fellow faculty members, administrators and other constituents;

Ability and commitment to work well with students from diverse cultural backgrounds;

Computer and technical skills in varied course delivery methods; familiarity with D2L, course delivery systems and Banner systems;

Strong written and oral communication skills;

Commitment to the values and mission of a community college.
