We seek a creative and critical design researcher working at the interface of computing technologies and humans. Candidates should be familiar with humanities and/or social science approaches to understanding human behavior, as well as computational methodologies for building digital devices, applications, systems, or products. Backgrounds in Human-Computer Interaction or Human-Centred Design are preferred, but candidates pioneering new interdisciplinary approaches are encouraged to apply. Engagement with artificial intelligence is a plus. Responsibilities: Lead the development and teaching of new undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Human-Centred Design and Human-Computer Interaction, including Studio courses. Contribute to interdisciplinary initiatives, especially relating to Design and AI, through collaboration with colleagues in engineering, architecture, computer science, and design. Mentor students, including those working on capstone projects connecting research on human problems with technological innovation. Conduct research that speaks to both social science and engineering audiences. Collaborate with industry or public sector partners (advantageous). Qualifications: Demonstrated record of effective teaching at the university level. Strong research profile, with potential to develop new directions in interdisciplinary teaching and research.
