About the position

We have two vacancies as associate professor / university lecturer in health sciences (child welfare) at the Department of Mental Health.

The positions have a 100% job share and are funded by the Regional Knowledge Center for Children and Adolescents - Mental Health and Child Welfare (RKBU Mid-Norway).

The positions report to the center manager.


The positions will help to fulfill RKBU Mid-Norge's assignment from the two clients Health Directorate and the Children, Youth and Family Directorate in the areas of service support, research, teaching and dissemination. The work is aimed at municipal and state services in child welfare and mental health for children and young people, as well as kindergartens and schools.

Those who are hired must expect to contribute with teaching in their subject area on all study programs at the faculty.

Eligibility Requirements

Associate professor: The
post of associate professor requires a Norwegian doctorate in the relevant field of study, or equivalent foreign doctorate approved as equivalent to a Norwegian doctorate, or competence at equivalent level documented by scientific work of the same scope and quality.

Emphasis will be placed on the ability to initiate and lead research and development work. The publication of research results in renowned international journals within their field of study will place great emphasis. The greatest emphasis has been placed on scientific work over the past five years, excluding statutory leave.

Educational skills and qualifications will be emphasized. The assessment will be based on documented educational material, forms of preparation in the scientific work, experience from teaching, doctoral and master's degree guidance as well as educational background of another kind. Applicants with teaching experience at the university level will be preferred. Quality and breadth will be assessed. Employees without basic educational qualifications and who cannot document equivalent qualifications are required to undergo an approved educational development program within two years of joining.

lecturer : The  post of senior lecturer is required to obtain a master's degree or equivalent within the relevant subject area. In addition, there are requirements for relevant research qualifications beyond the master's or master's degree level and / or relevant professional practice or documented development work to a certain extent. 

Relevant practical-pedagogical competence on the basis of education or teaching and supervision must be documented. If this cannot be documented, those who are hired to complete an approved course in university pedagogy are required within two years of employment. NTNU offers qualifying courses. 

Specific qualifications:

Applicants must master English and a Scandinavian language at a satisfactory level both orally and in writing
Applicants should have experience in municipal and / or state child welfare and have documented knowledge of Norwegian health and social services.
Applicants for the position of associate professor should have experience of application processes to the Cooperation Agency, NFR or other external funding sources.
It will be an advantage if the applicant has knowledge and / or experience with guidance and management

Salary and terms
The position as associate professor (code 1011) is normally paid from gross from NOK 573 100 - 704 900 per employee. years depending on qualifications and seniority. The statutory 2% contribution is deducted from the salary to the Government Pension Fund.

The position as senior lecturer (code 1009) is normally paid from gross from NOK 496 100 - NOK 615 900 per year. years depending on qualifications and seniority. The statutory 2% contribution is deducted from the salary to the Government Pension Fund.

Employment is carried out in accordance with the principles of the State Employment Act, and legislation governing the export of knowledge, technology and services. After employment, you must expect that changes may occur in the work area.
