These two doctoral positions will be part of the new national Graduate School in Islamic Studies, co-funded by the Swedish Research Council. The National Graduate School in Islamic Studies will include a total of 12 PhD students in Islamic Studies who will be based at seven different universities across Sweden. Apart from Lund University, further PhD positions will also be advertised at the University of Gothenburg, Linnaeus University, Södertörn University, Stockholm University, Umeå University and Uppsala University. The Graduate School in Islamic Studies will organize joint activities for all 12 PhD students such as summer schools, workshops, conferences, and seminars. This is assessed against the criteria quality, quantity, progression and relevance. About The Joint Faculties of the Humanities and Theology The Centre for Theology and Religious Studies (CTR) has existed under various names in Lund ever since the University became operational in 1668. CTR conducts teaching in the specialisations of history of religions and religious behavioural science, biblical studies, church and mission studies and studies in faith and world views.
