The Chair of Sociology of Religion at the Institute of Sociology in the Faculty of Educational and Social Science at the University of Münster, Germany, is seeking to fill the post of a


Doctoral Researcher (m/f/x),
(salary level TV-L E13, 50%)

The position is available from 2 March 2020 at the earliest. This part-time, fixed-term post is available for a period of three years. Currently, the regular working time for half-time (50%) employment is 19 hours and 55 minutes per week.

Job Description
The doctoral researcher will teach 2 hours per week and will contribute to a research project on organization-specific approaches to the negotiation of secularity from an internationally comparative perspective. The post provides the opportunity to complete a doctoral dissertation in sociology.

Requirements:

  • a master‘s degree in sociology
  • a research interest in the field of sociology of religion
  • good basic knowledge in qualitative or quantitative methods of empirical research and a willingness to further improve these skills
  • excellent English written and communication skills and a willingness to learn German
  • additional language skills are welcome
