Full-time/Part-time Research Assistant I/II in the Department of Social Work and Social Administration (Ref.: 494049) (to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability)


Applicants should possess a Master's degree or above in Computer Science, Statistics, Public Health, or a related discipline. They should have an adequate knowledge of quantitative research methods as well as a good command of written and spoken English. They should also be familiar with programming languages such as Python, R, or SAS. Those with expertise in data engineering, especially in handling large datasets, and/or experience in social work researches will be preferred.


The appointees will work on a multi-disciplinary project on HINCare: an AI solution for elderly care. The project is funded by $4M Innovation and Technology Fund (ITF) and hosted in HKU from the year 2019 to 2021. The appointees will work in a flexible environment, and have a chance to collaborate with computer science and social science experts.
