The Chicana/o Studies Department at UC Davis is looking for instructors to teach the following courses:

CHI 165: Chicanas, Latinas and Mexicanas in Commercial Media
CHI 182: Race and Juvenile Justice

Winter 2021
CHI 125S: Latino Families in the Age of Globalization: Migration & Transculturation
CHI 130: United States-Mexican Border Relations
CHI 140A: Quantitative Methods: Chicano/Latino Health Research
CHI 150: The Chicana & Chicano Movement

Spring 2021
CHI 30: United States Political Institutions & Chicanas/os
CHI 40: Comparative Health: Top Leading Causes of Death
CHI 50: Chicana and Chicano Culture
CHI 130: United States-Mexican Border Relations
CHI 146S: Public Health in Latin America

We are looking for scholars/educators with terminal degrees from relevant fields that align with CHI curriculum (PhD, MFA etc.), and/or graduate students who have advanced to candidacy (ABD). Candidates for lecturer positions in the Chicana/o Studies department should submit application materials that reflect a record of excellent teaching within a university context and proposed syllabi that align with the content of department curriculum.

Applicants should submit the following documents as part of their application:

• Proposed and/or Previous Syllabi
• Teaching Evaluations
• Statement Regarding Teaching Evaluations
• Statement of Contributions to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

Applicants should include a cover letter explaining which course or courses they want to teach and why (ranked by preference); a teaching statement that focuses on their teaching experience in Chicana/o Studies; and any proposed and/or previous syllabi for courses for which they would like to be considered. In addition, they should submit a separate document that comments on their most recent teaching evaluations, including what changes they have made to their materials/content and/or teaching as a result; at least one set of teaching evaluations; and a statement of contributions to diversity, equity and inclusion, through the online application system at

These positions are covered by a collective bargaining agreement.
