At the Study Board for Political Science, there are a number of instructor positions available for occupation per bachelor's program. 1 February 2020 in the following subjects:

Method 1
Danish and Comparative Politics 2
Political Theory 2
International Politics 2 + 3

Method 1: The course comprises 2 hours of teaching per week as well as teaching a number of workshops and conducting individual professional cafes during the semester. In addition to their own classes, the instructors are expected to attend weekly lectures and coordination meetings. Applicants with strong qualifications in methodology and relevant teaching experience are preferred. Further information is available by contacting the subject coordinator Frederik Georg Hjorth on phone 35 32 41 04 or e-mail fh@ifs.ku.dk

Danish and Comparative Politics 2: The course includes 2 hours of teaching in the spring semester (14 weeks). In addition, the course consists of 2 hours of attendance at lectures, and the instructors must also attend regular weekly coordination meetings. Applicants with an interest in Danish policy and / or relevant teaching experience are preferred. Please note in the application whether you will have the opportunity to teach two teams.

Political Theory 2: The course includes 2 hours of team teaching weekly during the spring semester (14 weeks). In addition, the course consists of 2 hours of lectures per week, and the instructors must also attend regular weekly coordination meetings and contribute with assignment direction. Applicants with an interest in political theory and / or relevant teaching experience are preferred.

International Policy 2 + 3: Courses include 4 hours of teaching per week for 14 weeks during the spring semester. In addition to their own teaching, the instructors must attend lectures and attend weekly coordination meetings. Applicants with an interest in international politics and / or relevant teaching experience are preferred. Further information is available by contacting subject coordinator Ole Wæver on phone 35 32 34 31, mobile: 26 17 40 77 or e-mail ow@ifs.ku.dk

In connection with hiring, a 2-day educational course is offered immediately before the start of the semester, which you are expected to attend. The courses are held 16-17, 20-21, 23-24. and 27-28. January 2020.

Salary and terms of employment
The salary as instructor is agreed between the Ministry of Finance and the SUL (hourly salary includes preparation currently DKK 552.33 + holiday pay and pension, excluding preparation DKK 220.93 + holiday pay and pension).

The positions can be applied for by students at the Department of Political Science, who have completed the first two years of the bachelor's program (proof with obtained grades and documentation of possible teaching experience attached)

Applicants for the above subjects will also be considered as applicants for instructor positions in connection with a planned subject café.

The purpose of the course café is to allow students to "talk" with the instructors about specific issues related to the preparation of assignments and projects.

Hiring Process

An assessment committee is responsible for the professional evaluation of the applicant, where the applicant will be informed of the participants in the evaluation committee and subsequently sent their assessment. Following a prioritization of the qualified applicants per subject, interviews are held in relation to the number of vacancies, after which any employment is offered. After the application deadline, the hiring manager will, with the advice of the hiring committee, select which candidates to evaluate. Immediately afterwards, all applicants will be notified whether their application has been passed for evaluation by a specialist evaluation committee. The selected applicants are informed about the composition of the committee, and each applicant is given the opportunity to comment on the part of the assessment that concerns the applicant himself.

Applicants seeking an instructor position in more than one subject are explicitly given priority between the subjects.
