Applications are sought for the post of Social Work Practice Learning Coordinator for the MA in Social Work (MSW) at NUI Galway. The Masters in Social Work is offered as a postgraduate programme with the School of Political Science and Sociology in the College of Arts, Social Sciences and Celtic Studies. The Practice Learning Coordinator must be a qualified social worker, eligible for registration with CORU. A Masters level qualification (or equivalent) is required. The applicant must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in Social work practice. Experience of practice teaching or teaching in a Third Level institution or training in a social work organisation is essential. The Practice learning coordinator will have lead responsibility for the organisation, support and management of practice learning placements for social work students per annum. They will also have lead responsibility for the delivery of the Post-Graduate Diploma in Practice Teaching, Supervision and Management. In addition, the coordinator will contribute to leading, designing and delivering teaching programmes for Practice Learning Preparation and Review for students with particular emphasis on the CORU Domains of Practice.

Below the Bar: €37,979 to €58,944 p.a (applicable to new entrants effective from January, 2019)
(This appointment will be made on the Lecturer below the Bar scale in line with current Government pay policy)
