Lecturer in Law - Criminal Law

USC Gould School of Law is seeking a part-time lecturer to teach a section of Criminal Law exclusively for our LLM students during the fall 2020 semester, which runs from August 24 to December 18, 2020. Candidates should be able to demonstrate teaching excellence in the subject area.

Criminal Law will explore selected topics in criminal law: the sources of criminal law in the U.S. including the Model Penal Code (MPC), basic elements of a criminal charge, certain offenses like homicide and crimes against property, as well as, attempt, solicitation and conspiracy.  It will also identify the most common defenses to a criminal charge and discuss problems of statutory construction and interpretation.
