Applications are invited for a permanent lecturer in Social Statistics available from 1st September 2019. The appointed candidate will join the Social Statistics Department in the School of Social Sciences to provide teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels including supporting the MSc in Social Research Methods and Statistics.


Applicants should have a PhD in Social Statistics or equivalent quantitative subject with applications of advanced quantitative methods and experience of designing, leading and/or delivering high quality teaching in relevant areas of Social Statistics or Quantitative Social Research Methods at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.


Lecturer applicants must demonstrate the potential to produce high-quality publications and to provide excellent teaching. Applications will be strengthened by evidence of experience with partnership and knowledge transfer; research grant income; successful supervision of doctoral students; and/or experience of administration/management. Desirable areas of expertise include social statistics, demography, data science methodology and/or practice, and/or official statistics.
