The UCLA Honors Program unit seeks a lecturer for Fall 2020 (AY 2020-21) to teach an upper division undergraduate seminar under Honors Collegium.

The Honors Collegium 130 course is designed for students in the College Honors program. Students will be involved in the study of how economic, political, and social forces shape health policy and even biomedical science. What are best ways to confront specific health challenges? Analysis of scientific, medical, social, economic, and political aspects of health inequities, drug pricing, and disability policy, as well as roles of experts and expertise in formulating goals and strategies. Topics include aging, autism, AIDS, breast cancer, clean water, gun violence, prostate cancer, rare diseases, and vaccines.

UCLA has a diverse student population in one of the more diverse cities in the nation; we particularly seek candidates who have taught similarly diverse students in a major research university.

Required Qualifications:
• An earned doctorate from an accredited university
• College-level teaching experience
• Knowledge and training within the fields of political science, economics, life science and other-related areas
• Experience in teaching writing and composition

Preferred Qualifications:
• At least three years of college-level teaching experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Must be capable of delivering high-quality instruction to a diverse student body
