Salary: HEW 9 ($135,978 – $145,693) + 17% Superannuation
Location: Melbourne CBD Campus (with potential work at other campuses)

About the Role

The Manager, Facilities & Technical Services – Digital Production leads technical teams across RMIT’s College of Design and Social Context (DSC), ensuring the delivery of high-quality, service-oriented digital support for teaching, learning, research, and engagement. The role oversees digital production facilities and equipment—including areas such as sound, audiovisual, screen and media, games, animation, and digital design—while driving continuous improvement and innovation aligned with emerging digital technologies.

You will provide strategic and technical leadership, operational oversight, and people management to foster collaboration, capability development, and a culture of excellence and inclusion. The role also contributes to strategic planning, compliance, and workforce development within the College.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and inspire technical teams supporting digital production across the College.

  • Ensure efficient, service-focused delivery of technical support for teaching, research, and engagement.

  • Provide expert advice on digital production technologies and future investments.

  • Drive staff performance, development, and wellbeing through coaching and inclusive leadership.

  • Oversee compliance with Health, Safety, and Wellbeing (HSW) regulations and RMIT policies.

  • Foster cross-school collaboration and communicate operational insights to senior leadership.


Key Selection Criteria

  • Proven leadership and people management experience in a technical or educational setting.

  • Demonstrated agility and resilience in managing change and dynamic environments.

  • Strong technical knowledge in digital production across creative disciplines (e.g., advertising, sound, media, design, animation).

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with diverse stakeholders.

  • Comprehensive understanding of health, safety, and wellbeing standards in technical environments.
