The Chairs of Prof. Dr. Regina Kiener, Prof. Dr. Matthias Mahlmann and Prof. Dr. Daniel Moeckli at the Faculty of Law of the University of Zurich offer 3 or 4 PhD positions (4 years; 0.6 FTE).

Your responsibilities

The new University Research Priority Program (URPP) Equality of Opportunity aims to research the economic and social changes that lead to inequality. Your PhD thesis, which may be written in German, French or English, will be supervised by one of the three professors involved in the subproject.

In particular, the successful candidate is expected to:
  • perform research leading to a doctoral dissertation to be submitted at our Faculty of Law
  • participate in interdisciplinary research including economics, social sciences, history, philosophy and law
  • assist in implementing our URPP subproject by, for example, assisting in the organisation of workshops, contributing to the dissemination of research results etc.
