The opportunity

We are seeking an outstanding honours/Masters graduate to undertake a PhD that will focus on homelessness. On any given night in Australia, approximately 100,000 or 1 in 200 individuals experience homelessness. Homelessness is often associated with social inclusion and people who are homeless are often subjected to high levels of stigmatisation and marginalisation.

The aims of this research project are to provide a voice for the homeless population for them to express their views about what they perceive are needed to help them break the cycle of homelessness, and to evaluate two innovative methods of engagement to facilitate and improve the long-term outcomes of the homeless persons. The findings of this research project will be the stepping stone for submitting an ARC Linkage application.
