Posting Details Title Postdoctoral Fellowship in Sociology, Indiana University Appointment Status Non-Tenure Track Department IU Bloomington Sociology Location Bloomington Position Summary The Department of Sociology at Indiana University, Bloomington seeks a talented, highly motivated postdoctoral researcher with a background in qualitative methods and substantive areas of race/ethnicity, immigration, organizations, social movements, and/or policy/law. The postdoctoral fellow will work with Dr. Dina Okamoto and conduct research related to projects on interracial cooperation and organizational coalitions, and the cultural construction of immigrants. This fellowship will advance the career of an early-stage researcher by providing opportunities to conduct research, and by connecting with faculty in the Department of Sociology and the Center for Research on Race and Ethnicity in Society (CRRES). Strong applicants will demonstrate mastery of interview methods, and qualitative (e.g., interview, archival) data management and analysis. A track record of research, initiative, and experience working on a research team is preferred. Terms of Agreement This one-year postdoctoral research position has an anticipated start date of August 1, 2025 and end date of July 31, 2026 with a 12-month annual salary of $55,000. Postdoctoral fellows will also receive Indiana University health benefits. This position may be renewable for a second year upon satisfactory performance and funding availability. The fellow will be expected to learn new research skills, develop research, and engage with others effectively on a research team. The fellow will also have an opportunity to participate in Sociology department activities and seminars. Application Process.
