Research Assistant I/II in the Sau Po Centre on Ageing within the Faculty of Social Sciences (Ref.: 499930) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, or on a one-year temporary term, with the possibility of renewal)

Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree or above in Social Sciences, Social Work, Sociology, Statistics, Public Health or related disciplines, preferably with a Master’s degree of the aforesaid disciplines, and at least one year’s post-qualification work experience in elderly, family or healthcare setting. They should have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese; strong communication skills; and be able to work independently and as a team. 

The appointee will work for a project that aims to test specific functions of couple’s collaborative dynamics in mastering daily stressors that could facilitate more positive individual and relational well-being outcomes, and whether the effectiveness of collaboration varies as a function of perceived control of self and spouse during the collaboration. He/She will be responsible for literature review; data collection and analysis; preparation of presentations, manuscripts and reports; liaison with elderly people and NGOs partners; supervision of research helpers; and other research-related duties as assigned by the investigators.
