Research Assistant I/II in the Sau Po Centre on Ageing within the Faculty of Social Sciences (Ref.: 502585) (to commence as soon as possible, on a one-year temporary basis or two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability) 

Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree or above in Social Sciences, Social Work, Sociology, Statistics, Computer Science, Public Health, or a related discipline, preferably with a Master’s degree of the aforesaid disciplines, and at least one year’s post-qualification work experience in elderly, technology, healthcare, or social service setting. They should have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese; strong communication skills; basic knowledge in using statistical software such as SPSS, or R; and be able to work independently and as a team. Knowledge in website management and specific IT skills (such as AI, PS, UX and UI design) will be an advantage.

The appointee will contribute to multiple projects that aim (i) to develop a multi-step risk assessment and care management protocol to serve graduated and current carers, and (ii) to evaluate an innovative study to enhance the spirituality of the elderly. He/She will be responsible for literature review; coordination of data collection activities; data collection at elderly centres/nursing homes; liaison with NGO partners and collaborators; data analysis; preparation of presentations, manuscripts and reports; and performing other research-related duties as assigned.
