The position in accordance with Section28 subsection1 of the Hamburg higher education act (Hamburgisches Hochschulgesetz, HmbHG)commences on 01/10/2019or negotiable.

This is a fixed term contract in accordance withSection2 of the academic fixed-term labor con-tract act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz, WissZeitVG). The initial fixed term is three years. Theposition calls for 75% ofstandard work hours per week.


Research associateswill be expected primarily to teach and conduct research. The research as-sociate will also have the opportunity to pursue further academic qualifications, in particular a doctoral dissertation. At least one-third of set working hours will be made available for the re-search associate’s own academic work.


Specific Duties:

The position involves the teaching of tutorials as well as the supervision of students in seminars (3 teaching hours per week). In addition, the candidate is expected to develop a record of public management researchand present his researchresults in conferencesto receive a doctorate.




A university degree in a relevant field.

·strong research interest and pleasure in composing scientific papers for publication in inter-national journals

·well-founded theoretical knowledge in the fields of behavioural management, organisation and leadership research, particularly with reference to the public sector (public management)

·strong applied knowledge of quantative methods of empirical social research

·an above-average university degree in business studies, management sciences, (organisa-tional-)psychology or related subjects

·excellent English language skills (both spoken and written)

·strong analytical, organisational and communication skills, ability to independently plan and conduct research, ability to work under pressure and team spirit
