Position overview


ANU has an international reputation for research and education relevant to the health and well-being of the population of Australia, as well as that of the developing world. This is achieved through discovery research, applied research in health service settings, research-led teaching in health and medical sciences, and the translation of research findings into practice and policy. The ANU College of Health and Medicine comprises the Research School of Psychology, the ANU Medical School, the John Curtin School of Medical Research and the Research School of Population Health. These schools work together to deliver world-class research and education across the spectrum of medicine and health-related fields, working in partnership with the health sector at local, national and international levels.


The Department of Health Services Research and Policy is a multidisciplinary department within the Research School of Population Health and is home to the newly established Health Policy Lab. The Health Policy Lab is premised on engagement and co-creation of research with policy makers and practitioners, focusing on policy development, implementation and evaluation with the ultimate aim of contributing to improved health and wellbeing.


We are seeking to appoint an economist with expertise in economic evaluation to work on a number of research projects as part of the Health Policy Lab. Experience also in policy field experiments or economic laboratory experiments or realist synthesis and evaluation, or implementation science would be advantageous. The Research Fellow will contribute to competitive research grants and supervision of research students and will have the opportunity to further develop their own methodological and applied research interests in this area.
