Remuneration: $69,401 - $94,190 pa Level A /$99,147 - $117,738 pa Level B (plus 17% employer superannuation)

The Opportunity

The Turner Institute for Brain and Mental Health (housed within the School of Psychological Sciences) provides an exceptional research environment for discoveries that change our understanding of the brain.

Reporting to the Director of the Turner Institute for Brain and Mental Health, this position will generate relevant research where impact can be demonstrated in the area of Community Engagement. 

You will also have access to career and proposal development to craft competitive funding applications, with a view to securing externally funded fellowships, research grants and contracts.

 

Community Engagement Research Fellow

This position will demonstrate significant impact in engagement across diverse sectors of the community (e.g. patients, families, the clinical community, public, industry or policy makers) and/or experience with participatory research methods (e.g. citizen juries, deliberative democracies) and co-design.

You will work closely with community and other relevant stakeholders to establish innovative and sustainable partnerships and develop a world-class research program that translates advances in neuroscience research into effective and responsible treatments, policies and practice that meets the needs of the community.  

You will also have experience in manuscript and research proposal preparation skills, including a solid track record of refereed research publications.

This is a highly interdisciplinary position. To be successful in this position you will have completed a doctoral qualification in either psychology or neuroscience, social science, science communication, ethics, or a related discipline.

Appointment level will be commensurate with the level of qualifications of the candidate and previous experience in the discipline.
