The vacancy is at the Faculty of Behavioral and Social Sciences (GMW) of the RUG. The faculty is strong in research and education in the field of behavior, thinking, learning and cohabitation. We want to continue to develop our theoretically and methodologically well-founded knowledge domains - psychology, sociology, pedagogy, educational science and subject didactics.

 

The faculty strives for a leading position in researching and solving social issues and problems that people experience in their daily lives. Our ambition is to develop and evaluate scientifically supported interventions, in consultation with social parties. We want to expand the faculty infrastructure for empirical scientific research to an international top level.

 

The Teacher Training is a department of the Faculty of Behavioral and Social Sciences. In collaboration with other faculties of the University of Groningen and a large network of secondary education schools in the northern region, we provide training for first-grade teachers for the vast majority of school subjects. In addition, the department has a research task and carries out research into higher education, the development of teachers, and in the field of teaching didactics. Finally, teacher training is active in the field of professionalization and continuing education of teachers.

 

Due to the departure of a colleague, we are looking for a teacher of Religion and Philosophy of Education (G&L).

 

We are looking for an enthusiastic colleague / subject teacher (0.3 FTE) who takes care of G&L subject didactics education that is part of teacher education. This concerns both education for bachelor students (educational minor, resulting in a limited second-degree competence) and for master students (first-degree).

Job description

The main tasks include the implementation of this feature:

• preparing with fellow educators in consultation and coordination, implementation and evaluation of the vakdidactiekonderwijs Religion and Philosophy in the educational master and minor programs

• conducting regular lesson observations with students G & L during their school internship

• maintaining contacts with schools and colleagues G&L

• maintaining contacts with the Faculty of Theology.

 

Job requirements

• a relevant master's

degree program completed for the school subject • a first-degree teaching qualification with additional teaching experience in the first-degree area

• experience in supervising and coaching (prospective) teachers

• affinity with the training and development of (prospective) teachers and some familiarity with the most recent developments in that field

• an explicit vision on education and teaching

• in possession of BKO or the willingness to qualify for this

• strong team player

• demonstrable willingness to work together across the boundaries of their own subject / discipline

• familiarity with the (northern) education field

• completed promotion is recommended.

 

Terms of employment

We offer in accordance with the Collective Labor Agreement Dutch Universities:

 

a salary depending on qualifications and work experience of € 3,637 to a maximum of € 4,978 gross per month at full-time (scale 11 Dutch Universities)

8% holiday pay and a year-end bonus of 8.3% on the gross salary

a temporary appointment for a period of one year, with the prospect of an appointment for an indefinite period.
