Duties and Responsibilities

The Department of Political Science seeks to recruit a Teaching Fellow in Political Economy & Comparative Politics. The Fellow will deliver innovative BSc and postgraduate courses and take on other teaching and education roles in the Department.


We are looking for a candidate with expertise and an active research agenda in political economy and comparative politics; evidence of high-quality teaching, and a demonstrable commitment to inclusive, research-based education who will contribute to the department's overall profile to teaching and learning, and student experience.


The post is initially funded for one-year from 1st September 2019 – 31st August 2020.


Please note that this post also has specific time allocated for professional development within the advertised FTE.

Key Requirements

The post holder must have a PhD in Political Science/Politics or closely related discipline, (PhD candidates would be considered if they were close to completion).


A track record, or potential to build a track record, of an innovative and reflective teaching practice with demonstrated impact, excellent knowledge of relevant academic literature's on political economy and comparative politics and communication and interpersonal skills appropriate for teaching, supervision, leadership and administration are all essential.
